Hello, I am Lemon and I am a rare sort of budgie. My breeder was really happy when I was born, because he wanted since long time a greywing-budgie for his breeding. But just as long he has seen that I am also handicapped. My feet aren't straight. So I cannot sit on a normal way on anything. It is a defect I have, because I got not enough food from my parents. He remembered that Ella has got from him together with Jacky the handicapped Velvet in the year before. So he asked her if she wants a third budgie. And so I came to her in 1997. It is really great there. And since this summer I am sharing a big cage with the quite and lazy Velvet, the as well lazy Beauty and Clumsy - I think her name says enough about her caracter. I am a very active budgie, but not so active as Jacky was. If I saw or heard her, I became really angry. So I sat in the cage if I just heard her from the other room and shout around until she was quite. But now she is not anymore!
Our cage is directly next to the window on the Westside. And there we can see the gardens of the neighborhood, the street, the children and the cars coming back or leaving.
If you can say that a budgie has also hobbies, you can say that mine are as following: Eating, shouting, sleeping, make jokes to Velvet and Beauty and watch what happens around me. My favourite foods are clover-leaves and milletsprays. I could eat until I am bursting into thousands of pieces. But I am not too fat. I also eat often, together with Velvet, the sand if it got poured into the cage new.
About Clumsy and Beauty. I was really chocked when these two females arrived here. First we moved all together to an other house and then these new budgies came to me and Velvet. But they aren't like Jacky. So you cannot say that all female budgies are cruel. Beauty just finds it funny trying to throw me down from the perch. But mostly she has no success. So I am still the boss here!!! Then she try the same with Velvet... And there she mostly has success. And then later arrived a third male, called Musco and then the Violet. Oh no! too much for me.
