At this time
I was 10 years old. But unluckily Hansi, that was his name, died at the age of
just 5 years, 1987 because of cancer. 
At
the end he did not want to eat anything anymore and his belly ached him if you
touched him there. The vet was also not able to do anything for him. She said
that there is in the belly a tumor and she cannot help Hansi. So she just gave
me some medicine, which he did not want to take after taking them anymore the
first time. Obviously they tasted terrible!
Hansi
was a very tame budgie, but talking he didn't. Later I got him a female budgie
that he is not so alone when I was in school. His new mate was a female
lightblue Opaline, like Jacky was. Her name was Nicky. But he did not want her.
He always wanted to escape from Nicky. So we had to keep them in two cages next
to eachother. As Hansi, who was like a friend of me, died, my parents gave Nicky
away to a woman who has many budgies. Nicky was a lso tame.
The caracter of Hansi was a bit similar to the one of Velvet; lazy and good-minded. But I don't know exactly what kind of race Hansi was. I just know that he is an Australian pied darkgreen, but I think that there is also a Spangle in him.
