Hello!
I am Maria (from Holland) and I live here on Crete for 11 years now, in the
beautiful and quiet southeastern part of the island.
Since the start of my life here I wanted to start a small shop
with the fantastic, nice and especially healthy products of the nature of
Crete and in particular from this area.
After
a year work in the tourism I found a beautiful village in the mountains with
only about 100 older people, between the olivetrees, the herbs and the bee hives.
There my wish could be fulfilled: I started a shop with "natural products"
from Crete.
The
local inhabitants teached me a lot about the applications of the herbs, the
olive oil and the honey.
The locals themselves don´t have the possibilities to promote their very
good and healthy products outside their village - I have this possibilities
and they are very happy!
Together with them I collect the wild herbs; the coldbeated honey
comes direct from the (local) bee keeper, the olive oil in 1 time and
cold pressed direct from the factory.
The
olive oil soap is made by locals in the old, traditional way.
From April 2006 I have my shop in the village Mirtos,
westward of Ierapetra, at the south coast of Crete.
The products are, of course, directly from the mountains, as all the years
before.
