the products are NOT manipulated with chemicals - not during the growth and
not after the harvest!
The olive trees (for my cold pressed olive oil and olives to eat)
are, during the years, taken care with only water, sun and natural dung.
The olive oil soap is made from "my" good olive oil and, among
others, with some natural Geranium-oil.
The herbs are collected high in the mountains, far away from f.i. cars.
Also the honey is free from chemicals or other additions: the barrels
and combs are cleaned with only hot water, without cleaning additions.
And now to the products....................
The
herbs
The herbs are wild (not cultivated/not artificially made) and collected in the
mountains at a height of about 400-600 meters, where the air is fresh and pure.
They are very good for making a nice tea, for cooking and for medical use.
There
are, for instance, Oregano, Marjoram, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Chamomile, Basil,
2 types of Mint and specific Cretan herbs, like Oreganum Dictamus,
which only grows on Crete.
Honey
Honeyproduction in this area takes place 2 - 5 times a year, depending of
the season, the weather and of the flowers/trees/plants where the bees take
their nectar and all the 5, coldbeated, sorts of honey have their own specific
taste. There is, besides of course the well-known
cretan
thyme honey and honey from thyme and pine, honey from autumnflowers
(as from the flowers of the harrams/caroublestree) and from springflowers;
sometimes there is also honey from Erica Cinerea (heather).
In the shop are the sorts which are produced the last year.
Olive
oil
The 100% natural olive oil comes from the PROVENCE OF LASSITHI and is
one of the most purest. It is "virgin olive oil extra" with
a degree of acid (oleic acid) of maximum 0,4%. (Minimum is 0,3%, the maximum
for consumption is 3,3%).
My olive oil from winter ´06/´07 has f.i. an oleic acid degree less
than 0,3%!"
The
oil contains:
· No cholesterol
· Many A and E vitamins
· 93,4% body assimilation/unsaturated fat acids
And: the taste is very mild and aromatic!
Olives
The local olives are collected by hand to avoid bruises, selected one by one
and preserved in the traditional, local way.
Olive
oil soap
The olive oil soap is made from the pure and natural residue of the olives after
pressing. In many factories they put chemical elements in this soap, for instance
for the perfume.
This
soap is pure natural and very good for a dry and tender skin, to wash your hair,
for handwashing and: it is a very good stain remover.
I have also soap from pure olive oil and a.o.some natural garaniumoil.
