It
is very sad, that the war on Iraq has started.
Nevertheless, all our activities were important and a large
movement against the war around the globe has been created.
Even,
if we did not prevent the war, we created a situation, where many
governments were forced to respect the opinion of the people.
This is
already
a success.
Even,
if we did not prevent the war, we will continue with our
activities against the war, as all our arguments from end of last
year are still valid.
Even,
if we did not prevent the war, be not frustrated. The future of
the world lies in peaceful cooperation, and Not in War and
Violence.
Let
us stay active, against war and violence !!!!

The
statement and the list of signatures have been published
as avertisements in Die Zeit
on the Dec. 12th, in NATURE on Dec 19th, in DIE TAZ on
Dec 21st 2002, in WECHSELWIRKUNG in Jan. and March 2003. Thanks
to all of you for your donation!
We
will continue our initiative against the war.
The
signature list is closed, as it was intended to prevent the war!
A
group of concerned scientists and employees working in
international research institutes and universities have started a
signature campaign against the preparation of the US government
for a War on Iraq. The signatures together with the declaration
below are send to European Parliament,
local governments, UN and politicians by end of
January/February 2003 to push for votes against the war.
Everyone
working in research institutes and universities is invited to
join the campaign with his/her signature. A similar
campaign has already been started in the US, also published
in major newspapers, like The New York Times and Los Angeles
Times.
We,
the undersigned, work in research institutes and universities
with many international links.
We
believe:
We
call upon the international community to canvass the US and UK
governments to discard their plans for war and call upon the UN
Security Council to do all they can to prevent the war.
NO
WAR ON IRAQ !
