PrBoom, a version of the classic 3D shoot'em'up game Doom.
PrBoom is a version of the classic 3D shoot'em'up game Doom, originally
written by id Software. You'll need some WADS file (either from Doom
1,
Doom 2, The Ultimate Doom or Doom 1 Shareware) to play.

Currently none of these links is working
! gnurou.org seems to have a problem !
(if these links are not working look at http://www.gnurou.org/zaurus/feed/Packages
for new filenames. Version 3 should be out soon !)
you need a "Doom wad" file to play it. I have packaged an ipk with the
free "Doom I Demo". You can download it from
You need to unzip it because geocities does not accept ipk files.
install
- libSDL-mixer
- libSDL-net
- libSDL
- prboom
- doomdemo
Warning: you need about 10MB of free space !
If you installed doomdemo, you can run "Doom Demo" from the Games-Tab
and enjoy it! In any other case look at the following email.

Due to popular demand, I've released beta packages of both PrBoom
and
Scummvm for the Zaurus. They are available on my "testing" feed at
http://www.gnurou.org/zaurus/feed. The directory is not readable
yet,
sorry (the files are, of course). But the Packages file will give
you
the right names of the packages, if needed.
They are beta packages but perfectly playable - so if you just want
to
play, you should be done by following the instructions below. And
trust
me, it's something else than Doom on the GBA! ;)
You'll need my SDL packages on the same feed to make them run - but
as
said before they are totally compatible with Zauruszone's feed ones,
only SDL_mixer is packaged separately from SDL.
PrBoom will need a .wad file to run. After having installed
the package,
copy either doom.wad, doom1.wad or doom2.wad (depending on the version
of doom you have - the shareware one should work perfectly) to
/opt/QtPalmtop/share/games/doom. After that, run "prboom" from a
console
and you should be done. The default keys are the "joypad" for control
and firing, shift to strafe, enter to use, cancel to bring the menu.

Have fun! ;)
Alex.
